Head of Commercial Development, PCF Bank
Gerald was appointed Head of Commercial Development, PCF Bank on 23 July 2018.
Gerald started his career with the Inland Revenue learning management accountancy, working on tax matters ranging from foreign entertainers to large Yorkshire corporates.
After 5 years with HMRC, Gerald joined Barclays Mercantile to put his skills to use in the banking world, doing personal lending and point of sale motor finance. After Barclays sold Mercantile, Gerald joined GE Capital concentrating on business development and European M&A and becoming a General Manager. GE sent Gerald to Crotonville, GE’s Global Leadership institute in New York to do his MBA.
Gerald was part of the team that launched the Funding Corporation in 2001 where he spent 10 years, prior to joining Hitachi Capital in 2007 as Head of Sales with the responsibility for growth and development of the already established finance provider. Gerald took over the role of Managing Director in 2008 and has overseen a period of significant expansion and diversification into new markets. Gerald was a member of Hitachi Capital UK Board.
From 1 July 2017 to 31 March 2018 Gerald was Chief Executive Officer and member of the board of ThinkSmart Limited (AIM: TSL), a provider in the UK of retail point-of-sale lease finance for high-volume, small-ticket electronic and commercial equipment.
Gerald has been Chairman of the Financial Leasing Association and is currently a Board Director and is also a member of the Bank of England Advisory Committee.
Gerald is a representative of the consumer credit sector on the Panel.
